If you don’t own a Shiba Inu, you are probably wondering how on earth the dog made his way to the window ledge. You’re likely also wondering why the pup doesn’t look the least bit scared. He looks quite pleased with himself, in fact.
If you are a Shiba owner, nothing about this photo surprises you. It also won’t surprise you to know that the dog opened the window, which was completely closed but not locked, and sauntered out for some sunshine while his human was at work.
Residents in the Mong Kok area of Hong Kong saw the dog on the ledge and contacted the fire department. Not only was this rescue dangerous for the SPCA employee who scaled the ladder, it was also dangerous for the pup. Any dog may have tried to run away from strangers, but Shibas are extremely averse to people they don’t know, especially when those people are trying to get them to do something they don’t want to do.
Thankfully, rescuers pulled the troublemaker back inside without incident.
This story serves as an excellent warning for any human who wants to bring one of these internet famous fluffballs into their home – Shibas aren’t like other dogs. You may think you’ve outsmarted them and Shiba-proofed your home, but that’s only what they want you to think.
