Have you asked yourself; “Do I really need to chip my dog?” Well, Yes. Yes you do.
And here are a few good reasons why:
1. Extra security should your dog make a break for it.
2. If your dog is stolen, you can go “Liam Neeson Taken” on the perpetrator and hunt them down.
3. So people obsessed with dogs can create awesome infographics with UK dogs stats.
BBC just released an amazing interactive infographic about what dogs are popular where, based purely on information taken from chipped pets.
We’ve added it up by region, but if you want to break it down further and find out your local top dogs, just visit the BBC website.
Unfortunately for our friends in Ireland, there wasn’t a nice enough map, but we did find the stats!
Northern Ireland:
Jack Russell Terriers: 20,800
Labrador Retrievers: 20,700
Border Collies: 13,700
Yorkshire Terriers: 11,800
English Springer Spaniels: 9,500
And after all that number crunching, we’ve come to our conclusion; every dog is individually pawtastic, but the UK thinks Labrador Retrievers are the dog’s bollocks.
