Empty kennels are all that’s left after a three-day ASPCA super adoption event in Sanford, North Carolina where all 524 available dogs and cats were adopted out to safe and loving forever homes.
In the first three hours of the event alone, they had already adopted out 250 animals and people were lining up in droves to meet their new best friends. On day three, the very last dog was adopted and received a hero’s send off as his new owner walked him out. (I may be writing this through my tears.)
The pup, now named Owen, capped off the incredibly successful event that left over 500 animals and people with new forever family members. These animals were rescued nearly two months ago from harrowing conditions that left them wounded, lethargic and lifeless.
Now each and every one of those survivors will spend the rest of their lives being loved and cared for. How’s that for a little faith in humanity restoration?
