A teeny 7-week-old puppy has been named official Bat Dog for the season at the Savannah Bananas baseball stadium in Georgia. The little girl, now named Daisy, was left in the parking lot with no identification. She sat by the office door crying until one of the employees found her.

Now, Daisy is the proud adopted pup of Team President Jared Orton and his wife Kelsey. Though she’s only slightly larger than a baseball, Daisy hopes to one day be able to carry a bat. Or “just coach first base,” according to Jared in a press release, since there’s no telling how big she’ll get.

Jared, for size reference:

The couple brought Daisy to the vet for a checkup and, despite being hungry and dehydrated, Daisy was “in pretty good health.”

The puppy spends her days with the Savannah Bananas helping to ship out merchandise and serving as official greeter for visitors. There’s no word on her performance thus far, but we feel comfortable assuming that she’s one of the best in the business.

She’s already the team’s (unofficial) MVP. Though her beginnings were quite sad, the Ortons and Bananas don’t hesitate to say that Daisy’s arrival was “meant to be.”
