This post is pawwered by the folks at Sony to promote their new movie, Annie, in theaters December 19th! To celebrate the beautiful relationship between Annie and her rescue pup, Sandy, Sony encourages you to share a pic of your pup with the hashtag #ImARescueToo and tell the story of how your pup rescued you. For every person who uses the hashtag, Sony will donate $1 to the ASPCA to help more people find their Sandy!

When it comes to pup-ular dog breeds, pups like Labs and Golden Retrievers are consistently at the top of the list. In recent years, designer breeds like Shi-Poos and Morkies have risen to pawwer in the hearts of humans worldwide. But that’s all history. We say 2015 will be a big year for mutts!

Reason #1 Why It’ll Be a Big Year For Mutts: A recent study found that when a dog becomes a super star on the silver screen, their breed will receive a boost in pupularity for up to 10 years – that’s 70 in dog years! In fact, Lassie – O.G. of Hollywood hound fame – inspired a 40% increase in Collie ownership after the 1943 release of Lassie Come Home and the following sequels.

With this year’s highly-anticipated release of Annie, we predict that everyone’s favorite mutt Sandy will be stealing scenes and hearts left and right!
