Summer is one of the best times to treat yourself to a vacation. But if you’re a dog lover, leaving your pup behind can make you feel guilty. Luckily, these 10 summer camps for dogs will ensure that your furry friend is having as good of a time as you are. Plus, with so many options, there’s bound to be a canine camp near you:

Wag Hotels is a pet care option that’s located in San Francisco, Sacramento, Redwood City, and Oakland. The facility allows pickup and drop off 24/7, which means a lot for people who are taking the red eye flight. There are play areas for specific sized dogs and a full-service grooming spa. Oh, and did you notice how pimped out that room is? Dogs get a king-sized bed, a TV of their own, and you can monitor them from a computer at home. What more could you want?

This canine camp gets points just for the name alone. But let me tell you, it has more to offer than clever wording. Camp Winnaribbun is the perfect place for pet owners who want to go on vacation WITH their tail-wagger. Owners and animals alike can participate in the activities at this camp. Located at the South end of Lake Tahoe, Camp Winnaribbun has opportunities for pets and people to learn herding, pet obedience, lure coursing, and agility. The humans can also participate in golfing, fishing, boating, and classes like photography. Camp Winnaribbun is the ultimate getaway for anyone who wants to vacation with their pup.

3. Camp Unleashed

Camp Unleashed offers 4-day retreats for you and your dog in the beautiful Berkshires and Asheville, North Carolina. Owners and pets can go on a smell hike in the woods, do yoga together, hear a presentation about dog health, and learn a dog sport. As one camp participant says on the company’s website, “It’s worth sleeping on a bunk bed or air mattress for 3 nights when you see how much joy your dog has.”

4. Canine Camp Getaway of NY

The owners also offer overnight “camping” for dogs who have been to Happy Tails before. For day campers, Happy Tails has no set schedule. They simply let the dogs roam and play however they please. If I was at camp, that’s the way that I would want it.
