Stores Everywhere Sell These Chicken Treats, And They Just Got Recalled

Salix has expanded its recall of Good ‘n’ Fun Beefhide Chicken Sticks to include more lots of the product, which is sold in stores nationwide.

The recalled products have the UPC 091093822471 and item number 82247. The expiration dates on these products are 02/2018, 03/2018, 04/2018, 05/2018, 06/2018, and 07/2018.

Salix Animal Health, LLC has recalled its Good ‘n’ Fun Beefhide Chicken Sticks for possible Salmonella contamination.

The treats were sold at Dollar General and Dollar Tree stores across the United States. If you have these treats in your home but did not purchase them from these stores, you should still check your packaging to make sure you aren’t feeding your dog contaminated food.

This is how you can identify the affected product according to the recall alert:

The recalled product is packaged in a 2.8 ounce bag stamped on the back side with lot # AO15010 and with an expiration date of 03/2018. The UPC code is 0 91093 82247 1.

No one has reported any illnesses to humans or to pets as a result of this possible contamination. However, Salmonella is very dangerous. If you have this product in your home, you should call Salix Animal Health at 1-800-338-4896, Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time for a refund.

If your pet has consumed these treats, please contact your veterinarian. Salmonella can cause pets to become lethargic, vomit, have diarrhea, a fever and/or decreased appetite. Humans can be affected in similar ways, as well as experience aches and pains, as well as more serious issues, like arterial infections.
