Good news for Chiquis – she’s been rescued!
Pamela Soto came forward to be her forever foster and – thanks to Soto and Frosted Faces Foundation – Chiquis will be cared for to the end of her days.

Chiquis is an 8-year-old Pit Bull who hasn’t had a whole lot of luck in her life. She was dropped off at the Downey Animal Shelter in Los Angeles County around two weeks ago by her owner who couldn’t take care of her anymore. Chiquis is a fairly small dog at a mere 40 pounds, and has tumors and abscess growing out of her ears which form painful blisters around her face and cheeks.
These medical issues have caused Chiquis an incredible amount of pain, and the expenses of her medical treatments are slowly piling up. However, due to the generosity of the people at the Frosted Faces Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping senior shelter dogs live their best possible lives, Chiquis is being offered a chance to live out her life without the worry of medical costs if only she could find an acceptable forever foster home.
Frosted Faces Foundation CEO Kelly Smíšek has been closely following the story of Chiquis the Pit Bull, and due to the full capacity at their organization, they have been unable to take her in and care for her.
By seeking a forever foster home for Chiquis, the Frosted Faces Foundation is offering to front the medical costs of Chiquis needs as long as she is able to be taken care of by a supportive, kind family who understands her needs.
Chiquis may have been through a lot, but she is still a happy pup who just needs someone to love her. She is good with kids, she is good with other dogs, and she’s ready to be taken home today.
If you or anyone you know may be interested in being Chiquis’ forever foster home, please submit an application on the Frosted Faces Foundation website.
