The best kind of book is one that has a lot of pictures… of dogs. These comics featuring canine companions and superheroes are definitely doing it right!
1. Duncan The Wonder Dog: Show One

2. Happi from Stargazing Dog
Stargazing Dog is about a middle-aged, sickly, homeless man who goes on a road trip with his dog Happi. Best of all, Stargazing Dog is told from Happi’s point of view!
3. Ace the Bat-Hound from Batman
Bat-Hound’s debut is in Batman #92 when Batman and Robin save a dog named Ace from drowning. Ace goes on to get his very own mask and bat-themed collar, and appears in several issues. He’s even the narrator in issue #125!
4. Krypto from Superboy
Krypto, also known as Super Dog, is Superman’s pet dog who first appears in a Superboy story from Adventure Comics #210
5. Hyperdog from Top Ten
Sergeant Kemlo “Hyperdog” Caesar is a talking Doberman from the super hero comicbook series Top Ten.
6. Rex The Wonderdog from DC Comics
Rex The Wonderdog is a white German Shepherd that stars in The Adventures of Rex the Wonder Dog. He’s also featured in several other DC comic series, like Justice League of America, The Flash, and The Green Lantern.
7. Barnabas from The Sandman
Barnabas is the talking canine companion of brother and sister, Destruction and Delirium, in Neil Gaiman’s comic The Sandman.
8. Dogpool from Deadpool Corps
Dogpool, a mutt with the same healing powers as the antihero Deadpool, makes a debut in Deadpool Corps, a twelve issue series where Deadpool is joined by several alternate versions of himself from different universes.
9. Lockjaw from Marvel Comics
Lockjaw is an enormous, teleporting bulldog from Marvel Comics and is the pet of the Inhuman Royal Family. Lockjaw also stars in a four-issue series, Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers, with five other superhero pets (a cat, dragon, falcon, frog, and a puppy).
10. Lucky the Pizza Dog from Hawkeye
One of the most popular issues in the Hawkeye series is not from Hawkeye’s point of view, but rather his dog Lucky’s. It’s also in this issue that readers find out the Lucky thinks his name is “Pizza-Dog.” Bawww.

Junkyard is the the working dog/companion of the character Mutt, who serves as the K-9 handler of the G.I Joe team.
12. Cosmo from Guardians of the Galaxy
In Marvel’s series Guardians of the Galaxy, Cosmo, a telepathic dog that was once a test animal of the Soviet space program, is the security chief of the space station Knowhere, and is a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
13. Bandit from We3
“Bandit” a.k.a. “1” is one of the three “animal weapons” from Vertigo Comic’s western manga, WE3.
14. Space Canine Patrol Agents from DC Comics
Space Canine Patrol Agents is about 11 anthropomorphic, alien, canine, superheros that first appeared in Superboy #131
