In 1955, the late great Patti Page sang, “How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?” The song was about buying dogs from pet shops, which we now know usually come from puppy mills.

More than fifty years later, she recorded the song once more, this time for The Humane Society, and titled it “Do You See That Doggie In The Shelter?” The idea was to create a new version of the song in hopes that children and adults alike would sing about adoption and rescue instead of pet shops and puppy mills.

Recently, the Singapore SPCA created a wonderful animated music video for the song, covered by Korean pop singer Weish. It’s vibrant and colorful and features adorable pups (and even a couple kittens!) that really bring Patti’s lyrics to life.
