Dog-Loving Hotels and Restaurants in Colorado’s Most Dog-Friendly Cities

In general, Colorado is a pretty dog-friendly state. While you can easily find some of the chain hotels that allow dogs (Sheraton, La Quinta, etc.) and you will see dogs at every restaurant with patio seating when the weather is warm, we wanted to find the most dog-friendly hotels and restaurants in the Denver and Boulder areas that go above and beyond to make your four-legged friend feel just as comfortable as you do.

Either way, make sure to always check about pet policies in advance because these things can change! Also, pit bull type dogs are (sadly) banned in Denver, so you may want to stay in Boulder.

Hotel Monaco Denver

While technically part of the Kimpton Hotel chain, Hotel Monaco will provide you with food and water bowls and a dog bed in your room, poo bags and a map of suggested walking routes, and they offer pet-sitting, grooming, and dog walking packages (for an extra fee). If you’re traveling without your dog but want a little company, ask for a little Guppy Love and you can share your room with a goldfish during your stay (seriously).

Hotel Teatro Denver

Named “The Best Hotel in Colorado” in the book Canine Colorado, one of the great features about Hotel Teatro is that your dog can stay for free! They can also arrange paw-dicures and massage appointments for your furry companion.

Hotel Warwick Denver

When you get the Pampered Pet package at Hotel Warwick, your dog gets food bowls and a dog bed, a cute Colorado flag collar, a package of local dog treats, a toy, and you get 50% off grooming at a nearby salon!

Boulder University Inn

While there is a small pet fee for dogs to stay at the Boulder University Inn, your pup will get water and food bowls and treats. The concierge can also recommend local doggie daycares, vets, and groomers.

Your best bet in Boulder is to check out a pet friendly Airbnb rental. There area few chain hotels and a few independently owned hotels, but a quick search came up with more than 100 pet-friendly rental options.

The Watering Bowl Denver

This place has got to be one of the most pet friendly restaurants in the United States. With a variety of food and two fully stocked bars, The Watering Bowl also has a 7,000 square foot fully fenced dog park. That’s right – a dog park at the restaurant.

Denver Beer Co.

Denver loves beer, so it’s no surprise that The Denver Beer Co. is pet-friendly. They have a run club, too, making the location perfect for a quick run to burn off some energy and then grabbing a beer with a few friends. It’s pretty likely that your dog will make a few new friends, too!

While you would think that the Pearl Street mall in Boulder would be a great place to walk and shop with your dog, they are not allowed here. Dogs are allowed on pretty much every other patio in and around Boulder, though!

Boulder Farmer’s Market

While not technically a restaurant, the Farmer’s Market is held every Saturday April-November and every Wednesday as well from May-October. It’s located right next to Boulder’s Central Park, so it’s a great place to grab a bite to eat and hang out at the park with your dog and your friends.
