New York's hottest new artist doesn't dabble in watercolors or fumble with spray paint (lack of opposable thumbs, you know). In fact, he doesn't use his
paws at all---Jagger the Lab mix prefers to paint with a brush in his mouth.
Jagger is a puppy-in-training for Canine Companions for Independence
, but he showed an interest for art while watching fellow artist and owner Yvonne Dagger. She tells ABC 7 New York
He just started nudging me, and I said, 'Dagger do you want to paint?' So his tail started to wag. I said OK.
The furry ar-teest
known as Dog-Vinci has already made a lot of bones for his efforts. People from all over the country are buying the pup's artwork. Most of the canvases go for $50 apiece, but some run as high as $200. The best part? All of the proceeds go back to Canine Companions for Independence.
He's even helped canine friends looking for homes by donating to Forgotten Friends of Long Island Animal Rescue
. To be honest, I wouldn't mind making a donation for one of these beauties myself. Just look at those brushstrokes!
Dagger always has a little tail wag going while he works, and he completes his look with a chic and adorable beret. We love to watch him work his magic!
