Fifty dogs rode the waves this weekend at the Unleashed By Petco Surf Dog Competition.
The furry surfers competed against other dogs in their weight class for the top prize. Judges rate the dogs based on their confidence level in the waves, their skill and how long they manage to balance on the board before they bail.
A Toy American Eskimo named Ziggy, pictured at the top of this article, came in first in the small dog category.
Money raised from the competition goes to support the San Diego Humane Society.
