Almost a year ago, BarkPost had a crazy idea to publish a book.
10 months, a literary agent, a book deal with Putnam, and 220 amazing dog parents later, that dream is alive as our first pre-sale links are LIVE today!
Dogs And Their People is a hodgepodge of over 200 stories dealing in all things hilarious, heartwarming, harrowing, and hump-worthy. We asked artist Dave Coverly to illustrate custom doodles for the book that sprinkle the pages of hundreds of pup photos. The book is a compilation of personal anecdotes from around the globe and unique BarkPost content, touching on everything from weddings to travel, from butthead dogs who get away with the world to romantic tales of modern (dog) ruv, all anchored in celebrating what it means to be a kooky and devoted dog lover.
We are over the moon to be able to unveil our cover for Dogs And Their People – on bookshelves October 2016! Shout out to Emily Wang and her superstar, Chibi, for making the cover!
We reached out to our community and were blown away by the thousands of submissions from dog lovers around the world, all bonded by a simple fact: they love dogs to pieces.
We laughed;
We cried;
We wagged our tails with delight;
And most importantly – we reveled in, were humbled by, and were overtaken with pride to be able to compile such a special collection of dog lovers’ stories and photos.
Here’s a sneak peek of how the book is slowly developing day by day. Each week we’ll start revealing a page or story from the book as a special #DogsAndTheirPeople campaign, but below are a few mockups of the direction we are headed with the process.
