The 69 dogs rescued from a Florida fighting ring last month by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office look like they may be facing a brighter future than previously thought.
Initially, since the dogs were trained to be aggressive, many of them were facing euthanization. However, Tuesday the Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced that they were working with the Humane Society and southeast region of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals as well as SPCA Florida to try and find furever homes to most of the dogs.
This case naturally brings to mind the fate of the Vicktory dogs, where even though initially it was thought they would have to be put down, after individual evaluations of the 51 dogs, only one was euthanized.
