This post is brought to you by United Airlines! Take a paws to de-stress during the busy holiday travel season with therapy dogs at several United terminals around the U.S. from December 21 – 23! Share a picture of your dog in a travel setting or with a United Airlines logo or gear to be entered to win two roundtrip tickets when you use the hashtags #UnitedPaws and #UnitedContest. Not traveling for the holidays? You can still take part in the fun by submitting a photo of your pup with the tags above! For every photo shared, United will donate $1 to support therapy dog organizations. For United Paws Contest Official Rules visit here.

There are endless reasons why coming home to my pup is my favorite part of the day. His slobbery kisses, happy demeanor, and infinite tail wags are constantly reminding me to find something to smile about, no matter what type of day I’ve had. I’m sure this rings true for many of you, especially during the holidays. But aside from their irresistible fluffiness, there’s a scientific explanation as to why dogs make us feel the way that they do.

Studies have shown that interacting with dogs can reduce your heart rate, regulate your breathing, reduce your blood pressure, and also reduce your anxiety. Our pups also have a wonderfully positive influence on our moods. With this in mind, United will be teaming up with therapy dog organizations and their adorable pets to reduce travel stress and anxiety this holiday season.

United will be bringing therapy dogs to airports to give passengers an oasis of happiness during the hectic parts of their journeys.

Passengers traveling through ORD, EWR, IAD, IAH, DEN, LAX, and CLE will have the chance to visit with friendly dogs before they head off for the holidays. The United Paws crew will greet customers from Dec. 21 through Dec. 23, each day between 9 a.m. and noon and between 1 and 4 p.m.

For those who aren’t traveling during this time, you can still participate in the fun by posting a photo to Instagram or Twitter with your dog and #UnitedPaws #UnitedContest. For each tagged photo, United will donate $1 to support therapy dog organizations!
