Early March, we started our journey to find the Most Dog-Friendly Bar in America. We asked you guys to nominate your favorite dog-friendly bars and we got thousands of nominations! We tallied each nomination and found the Top 10. We had no idea that there was a global pandemic around the corner. We decided to pause our contest and take this time shift our priorities to help these awesome dog-friendly bars. We asked each bar how we can help make it through this tough time.

Oddfellow’s Liquor Bar

Tell us a little bit about your bar! How “dog-friendly” is it?

We’re a classy AF bar in the heart of Columbus’ Short North Arts District. Owned by the geniuses behind Mikey’s Late Night Slice and ran by some serious badasses. Always keepin’ it fresh, vegan, and of course, classy.
Dogs are a key part of our demographic.

  • Has one of the largest dog-friendly patios in the area
  • Keeps treats on hand and fresh water bowls full
  • Provides belly rubs for all canine patrons

How can we help you out?

We’ve started a gofundme in order to help out our staff during this difficult time.

D.B.A. East Village

Can you tell us a little bit about your bar?

For over 25 years, we’ve been at the front of the craft beer movement in NYC, proudly laying claim as the first bar in Gotham to refuse to sell bud products in deference to all the incredible stuff that was being brewed around the country in the early 90’s. The tagline has been the same since day one. ‘drink good stuff.

How do dogs fit into all this?

We like to believe dog-people are better drinkers than cat people. So they gravitate towards the good stuff we focus our business on. In all seriousness, the East Village is a hub of puppies centered around Tompkins Square Park. Pups are as part of our identity as our beer program and our widely known Nintendo Switch on the big screen. It’s who we are and what we do.

We keep our staff armed with all of the:

  • Treats
  • Toys
  • Bowls
  • Belly rubs they could ever desire

How can we best support you?

Anyone who can help by donating to our current GoFundMe would be doing us a great honor in making sure our entire staff can stay in their homes while this disaster resolves itself.

  • Play is monitored by staff

How can we support you?

Right now, we are encouraging our local community to support our staff during shut down by offering dog only play dates in our off leash yard and charity bath washes for donations. Just this service alone has helped keep our staff paid! And the support of our Dog Bar family has been amazing! To support the business itself, we are selling package liquor on site. We also offer gift cards and merchandise in our online store.
