**UPDATE 1/5/2016**

If you’re still debating this with your friends well into 2016, we have news for you: Your friends are weird It’s over.

A Canadian company called Muddy Mutts has been making doggy pants since way before this whole dilemma ruined lives blew up the internet. So how do dogs actually wear pants?

There it is, folks. For just 69.99 Canadian dollars (or 50 bucks for those of us south of the border), you can dress your dog up in their own pair of snazzy windbreakers. Now we can all sleep soundly knowing pants on a dog looks ridiculous AF no matter how they wear them.

For more pictures of dogs looking like they just want to be naked, follow Muddy Mutts on Facebook.

Remember that time in early 2015 when people on the Internet couldn’t decide whether a dress was black and blue or white and gold? Well, the next big question has just hit us and it’s dog-related.

Since it was tweeted by Maxim editor Jared Keller last night, folks haven’t stopped sharing the picture on social media along with their own theories on the question we all didn’t know we needed answered.

Redditor postapocalyptictribe offers the following explanation, which another redditor called the “most logical answer yet”:

Well pants are a human invention so if they were to wear them like humans it would be like the ones on the right. However, if dogs invented dog pants it would be like the ones on the left, leaving the asshole freely available for greetings and ice breakers.

To put this question to rest, we’ve come up with a poll for you to weigh in on this whole thing. Tell us below how dogs would wear pants.
