Has a picture of this dog graced your Facebook timeline recently?
On December 23, Stephen Roseman posted this picture of a dog with the caption:
This poor dog was badly burned and disfigured trying to save his family from a house fire
One like = one prayer
One share = ten prayers
The photo got more than 100,000 likes with comments that ranged from “please pray for this dog” to “poor baby.”
But there’s a catch: the dog in the photo was never in a fire. If you look closely, you can see the dog’s “disfigurement” is actually just a slice of ham covering his face.

But the damage has already been done. Now the post has gone viral with a variety of responses that range from outrage to confusion to amusement.
Hopefully this is an important lesson for everyone: don’t believe everything you read on Facebook.
