Five years ago, Francisco Beltran had to leave his best friend, Popelle, with relatives in Mexico.
Three years later, after the 10-year-old boy was diagnosed with leukemia, Make-A-Wish Foundation volunteers and two states worked five months in order to make Francisco’s wish come true: getting Popelle back home.

Up to the very last minute, his family kept him in the dark about Popelle’s return, not wanting to get his hopes up as the pooch traveled from Mexico. They even told him they were taking him to the airport to meet an Uncle. However, when they got to the airport and Francisco saw all the volunteers in Make-A-Wish shirts, the jig was up.

Once Popelle was let out of his kennel, all it took was a sniff of Francisco’s shirt, and the pup recognized his pal!
Not only were the two reunited, Petco gave the two a $500 shopping spree, plus a free grooming, enabling Francisco to spoil his best bud all he wanted.

Hoomans, thanks for pulling out all the stops to get these two friends back where they belonged: together.
