Proposed Law In Ohio Would Mean Mandatory Jail Time For Killing A Police Animal

The recent and tragic death of police dog Jethro has the state of Ohio pushing for a revision to the existing law. [bp_related_article] Ohio Senator Jim Hughes has proposed legislation to mandate 9--36 months in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 for anyone who takes the life of a police animal on duty, or if the offender is aware that the animal is an officer.
