Police Rescue Dogs From Stifling Heat and Prevent Tragedy

In the same parking lot, two women left their dogs in their cars while they shopped. Thankfully, police in the area noticed the panting pups, because despite the car windows being cracked, the temperature inside the vehicles was a scorching 105 degrees. In just 20 minutes that kind of heat can cause organ failure and even death in animals.

The dogs were hosed down before any permanent damage was done and both women were charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty. The kicker? The air-conditioned store they were shopping in allows dogs inside.
