Kensington Palace released a photo of the royal family over the weekend and while the adult humans looked as gorgeous as ever, the real focal point of the photo is the mischievous gaze going on between little George and his pup, Lupo.

Lupo came into the royal family in 2011 as an early Christmas present for Kate when the Middleton’s family pup, Ella, had puppies.

The royal family is very fond of the little cocker spaniel and Lupo has accompanied William and Kate everywhere from anniversary beach trips to polo matches.

The most adorable thing of all, though, is if you compare the first royal portrait Lupo took with baby George back in October you can really see a royal baby + royal canine relationship blossoming. Good to know love of pups runs in the royal blood.
