Sometimes, kindness is all it takes to change a dog’s life.

Paul Crowell of San Francisco, California has always identified himself as a dog person. He works at Fog City Dogs, a canine day care and kennel, and in his spare time, he walks around known areas of San Francisco with a high homeless population and selflessly feeds dogs who cannot get enough food from their owners.

Crowell had no intention of becoming well-known for his dog-feeding vigilantism. As he recalls, he simply noticed plenty of leftover food at his day job and decided to distribute it to animals in real need. The dogs Crowell visits range from regulars to strays – he finds dogs wandering the streets or living homeless with their owners and, based on their circumstance, he feeds the dogs with whatever he is able to salvage from Fog City. Needless to say, he has become a good friend to the local homeless pooch population.

Recently, Fog City Dogs has revoked Crowell’s privileges to use their leftover food to feed these homeless dogs, so he has set up a GoFundMe page called Project Open Paw in hopes of raising the funds so he can continue to supply food to these dogs in need. If you are in the position to donate, visit Paul’s Open Paw Project page and consider sending a few dollars to help Paul continue his work! You go, Paul!
