If you have ever had a dog, no matter the age, size or breed, you know that going to the restroom is a joint activity. And with those big, beady eyes looking at you (looking at all of you) things can sometimes be a bit awkward. If you think about it… we’re always with our dogs when they go to the bathroom. Aren’t they just returning the favor?? Here are 18 things only people who share their bathroom with their dog understand….

1. The first time your pup followed you in the bathroom it was quite an event.
“I’ve only known you for a couple of hours, but I’m ready for us to take this best friendship to the next level.”


2. You had to teach your pup some boundaries.

3. Your bath mat has a completely different purpose now.
Would it be weird to get a bathroom bed?


4. Your pup has peer pressured you to play ball at some inopportune moments
Certain bathroom visits require all our attention.


5. And occasionally you’ve succumbed and actually have played fetch from the John.
“Crap. Come back! That was the last toilet paper roll!”

“So a priest, a rabbi and a Labradoodle walk into a bar…”


7. You feel a little exposed with your down-there maintenance
I’ve been busy!


8. You try to cover up your unmentionables.
To maintain a shred of privacy.


9. But you definitely cover your butt.
