When it comes to real estate, property can be a tough sell. That’s where Tiffany, a five-year-old Shih Tzu Cavalier mix comes in. Acting as the perfect ice-breaker – while also showing that a property is pet-friendly – Tiffany takes her job as model and real estate agent assistant very seriously.

Speaking with Mashable Australia, owner and real estate agent Tracey Ashley describes why she starting using Tiffany in her listings:

“I found it very hard to work out which properties were pet-friendly, or weren’t…I thought, wouldn’t it make it easier for buyers if I could put Tiffany in my properties that are pet-friendly.”

Ashley, an agent for Remax United Vision in Carina, Queensland, says she was inspired by her own trials of trying to find a place on the market that was pet-friendly and would accommodate Tiffany.

Tiffany’s appearance in property listings has proven to be very beneficial, with many of them requesting the adorable pooch in their listings.

“Sellers are ringing up and saying, we’ve seen your photos with Tiffany, can we get you to sell our house with her in it,” Ashley said. And it seems buyers love the smiling little pup, too.

With “nearly double” the page views on the listings Tiffany appears on, some would even venture to say Tiffany was a good luck charm. But, it seems Tiffany might just be a really good (and really adorable) salesperson. “It’s kinda snowballed…we even get buyers asking us if Tiffany has been in other listings.”, says Ashley.

Since her rise in popularity, and the success of selling homes, Tiffany now not only makes an appearance on every pet-friendly property Ashley lists, but also at the open-house appointments for the properties for sale. Sellers are given the option to have her present. “I now have her at the open homes to greet the buyers as well”, Ashley said.

“Rather than people turning up and taking down names and numbers, making it a very clinical deal, it’s a real icebreaker to have the dog and makes buyers receptive to us”.

“It’s just a good way to stand out and get your home more attention and it’s a little bit of fun,” Ashley told Courier Mail.

Fun indeed! There’s no denying Tiffany makes any house look a little cuter.

Selling homes is no walk in the park, it takes a lot of hard work, and in this case – a lot of tail wagging and sitting pretty. And that’s a job this Shih Tzu Cavalier mix takes very seriously.
