Here at BarkPost, we’re big supporters of Gus Kenworthy and all the work he does to rescue dogs.

We already knew he was courageous after he rescued several dogs during the 2014 Winter Olympics. Yesterday, he stood up for what he believed in again by making the personal decision which we totally applaud him for: He came out to the world!

As he explained to ESPN Magazine, where he made the announcement:

“Hiding everything away is so painful. You’re constantly lying and constantly feeling like you’re being deceitful. I’m just at that point where I’m ready to open up and let everyone see me for me and I hope everyone accepts it.”

He also took to social media as well:

Congrats Gus, and we continue to <3 you for all the great work you do to raise awareness for worthy causes for both humans and pups!
