There’s nothing quite like seeing a shelter dog get his or her freedom. Sometimes, dogs just know that their time behind bars has come to an end, and the fear of being put down – just because there’s not enough room to house every single homeless dog – slips away like a faded memory.

You can see all that and more in the video below, where a Pit Bull named Quasimodo finally gets his freedom from Carson shelter, a high kill shelter in Gardena, California.

We were so lucky to get a chance to watch QUASIMOTO take his Freedom Run today thanks to his RESCUE and all of your SHARING. He is a very special guy and we are so happy to see him get his second chance. Happy life QUASI <3PHOTO THREAD:

Quasimodo is a special dog with a craniological defect causing one side of his head to be significantly smaller than the other and tilt to one side. This condition, combined with the unjustified stigma that Pit Bulls tend to receive, meant Quasimodo wasn’t a particularly likely candidate to be rescued.

Quasimodo the Pit Bull Close Up

Thankfully, A Wish for Animals – a not for profit animal rescue organization located in Dana Point, California – stepped in to save Quasimodo’s life.

Below, you’ll find a video of Quasimodo safe, sound, and ridiculously happy at A Wish for Animals.

Quasi is currently settling in at the rescue and awaiting his forever home. If you’re interested in making him a permanent member of your family, check out his Petfinder page for more information. Or if you just want to help A Wish for Animals continue to rescue and find forever homes for dogs like Quasi, please visit their website and consider getting as involved as you can.
