Lori Beiswenger was gardening near the 6th hole of her family-owned golf course in Inverness, Florida, when she heard a blood curdling scream. Beiswenger turned around to see her beloved mutt, Hope, being dragged into a nearby pond by a seven-and-a-half foot alligator.

“I saw teeth and hair and gator.” Beiswenger said.

With no one to hear her cries for help, the 52-year-old woman ran into the pond to try and rescue her pup. Neck-deep in the water, Beiswenger was pulling at the alligator’s tail until the ferocious reptile set his sights on her!

Thankfully, Hope is alive, well, and rocking some bitchin’ new scars.

It is really sad that the alligator is now a restaurant entree, but…

Lori’s still a total badass. #TeamHope
