There’s a new force awakening in Plano, TX, and his name is Yoda!

Yoda Dog!

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Yoda has stolen the heart of his foster mom Amanda Ball, and is hoping to find his way into the heart of a furever home. As we have heard from so many foster parents time and again, she says “Every day I keep thinking, ‘I cannot believe someone hasn’t snatched him up yet!’ He is a total sweetheart and a snuggle bug.”

Yoda, 9 years old, is thought to be a Chiweenie (Chihuahua and Dachshund mix), but we think he looks more like a Fennec Fox with those adorable ears. Though he was picked up as a stray by Arlington Animal Services, it is believed that he was dumped by his previous owners when he got too old. The shelter held him for a set number of days waiting for his family to come and claim him, but no one ever did. He was clearly neglected, weighing in at only 5.5 pounds and very frail.

He is now up to a healthy 7 pounds, and after extensive dental work and having 14 teeth pulled, is learning to use his last 7 chompers to chow down on small bits of kibble and treats. Yoda also has some arthritis in his back legs, but according to his foster mom you would never know it by the way he plays and runs. He even got a Puppuccino on his car ride home with Amanda!

The only thing that could possibly compete with those ears is perhaps his adorable tongue that tends to hang out of the side of his mouth. His foster mom says that he loves to give kisses with his sideways tongue – something we would personally love to see! We think he could even give Chloe Kardoggian a run for her money! You can follow pics of him and his foster siblings on Amanda’s Instagram here.

Yoda is available for adoption through Cody’s Friends Rescue. You can visit the website to fill out an application, or email them at [email protected] for more information. This chill little dude would make an excellent addition to homes both with pets and without, and has had limited exposure to kids thus far but the ones he has met he has seemed okay with and allowed to pet him.

This guy just wants to be loved and to find a furever home to spend the rest of his many days. Help us, Obi-Wan Kenobi! You’re our only hope!
