Your family and friends might think they know you pretty well, but when it comes down to it, no one knows you better than your dog. Whether you share your secrets while you’re on walks or dance like no one is watching (but secretly your dog is), Fido has seen and heard it all. Here are some of the most amazing, and sometimes creepy, things your pooch knows about you.

1. When you’ve had a ruff day…

Your dog senses when you’re sad. Researchers found and reported in a study called “Animal Cognition” that a dog is more likely to approach someone who is crying than someone who is humming or talking. Dogs try to cheer you up when you’re upset. What more could you ask for?

2. If your selfie game is on point

You know that perfect Instagram selfie you published? It had killer lighting and just the right angle, but looked effortless and natural. Your dog knows how many tries it took. Don’t worry though, pups are good at keeping secrets.

3. If you’re playing fair

A study in Austria tested what would happen if one dog received a reward for performing a trick, while another dog doing the same trick got nothing. The dogs who didn’t receive the treats got agitated. No playing favorites, ma.

4. Your Netflix addiction

That night you told your friends you were too busy to go out, then watched nine straight hours of Cupcake Wars… your dog was there the whole time.

5. When your back is turned

Your dog would never counter surf for dinner when you’re in the kitchen. But have you ever turned around for what feels like five seconds, then noticed the food was gone? Your dog knows when you aren’t looking.

6. When you’re expecting… maybe

The jury is still out on this one, but many women report a change in their dog’s behavior prior to her even knowing she was pregnant. They say their dogs became more attentive, loving and protective.

7. Your takeout habits

Have you ever been in that embarrassing moment at the door with a delivery person? They hand you enough food to feed an army and give you the look to which you respond, “I’m having company!” Your dog knows it was all for you. Every. last. bite.

8. When you’re taking them to the vet

One of the myriad mysteries of life, but your dog can somehow tell the difference between a car ride to the park versus a car ride to the vet. Fool them once? Shame on you. Fool them twice? Probably not going to happen.

9. If you’re sick

Studies found that pooches have the ability to sniff out certain diseases, like cancer. There are even centers opening to train dogs to detect chemical changes in the human body that signal disease.

You can hide it from your friends, but you can’t hide it from your dog. They know your guiltiest listening pleasures. Who let the dooooggsss out?
