Meet Kia, an abandoned Jack Russell-Collie mix from England that people are calling immortal! She was found wandering the streets of Loughborough by a dog warden. (British people call dog catchers “dog wardens,” because they are delightful and winsome.)
The delightful dog warden brought Kia to ‘One Paw At A Time Dog Rescue’ in Nottingham, where they guesstimate the angel-faced mutt to be at least 19 years old. That’s 133 in dog years!!
Shane Duffin, co-founder of One Paw At A Time (and pawsible sheriff of Nottingham), says Kia came into the shelter underweight and with some health issues. But with just a little TLC, Kia is now flourishing and acting like a pup in her pre-teens!

Kia’s foster care mum says, “She is literally going from strength to strength. Nobody can believe she is 19. My vet thinks she is immortal. She said she is the oldest dog she has ever seen. She is in brilliant condition.”
You know what they say… 133 is the new 30!
It’s a real ‘How-Kia-Got-Her-Groove-Back’ tail, but Kia is still looking for her happy ending. Kia looks good, feels great, and all she needs now is a home to call her own!
