So, for those of you soaked to the bone in the Pacific northwest, Seattle has unveiled a host of indoor dog parks. That’s right. And when I say “unveiled,” I’m talking to the humans located anywhere outside Washington. ‘Cause, you know, you rainy day folks probably already knew about these.
This is prime real estate to host your end-of-warm-weather paw-tay with anything from obedience and agility courses, to playtime in a private gym, to off-the-wall doggie discos (I’m serious.)
This is not a daycare—you can’t drop off your dog and bounce. The Zoom Room is here to celebrate your relationship with your pup, and to help foster that bond and help them build some confidence along the way. Plus, Zoom Rooms are all over the country, so find a location closest to you and get rockin’!
Best for pups who thrive on some one-on-one time with their humans, this facility is appointment-only and gives you and your dog the entire playground to yourselves. With soft rubber flooring, plenty of agility equipment (even a treadmill!), and your undivided attention, there’s no limit to the amount of fun—and exercise—that can be had here.
If you so choose, you may even schedule a breed meetup or attend “yappy hours” with other social pups. Payment is due at the door, and the bouncer is particularly fond of Shih Tzus. (Kidding. He likes everyone.)
Located in just a handful of places across the country, Citydog! Club is as ritzy as they come. Well, except for this place. Anywho, there’s a play park, a style bar, and a place for pups to snooze when they need to recharge their batteries. Oh, and for the humans, please sit back and enjoy the “H Lounge” while your dog goes wild.
And don’t forget to watch him on the webcam. As Citydog! Club knows, dogs get weird when they think they aren’t being watched.
Think of it as playtime disguised as social hour, but really everything is educational (ew, gross). It’s okay to trick them sometimes. Puppyworks invites all youngins from 8-18 weeks old to join training classes or play clubs in the interest of developing doggie skills based on trust and communication.
They also offer “day training” in which you drop off your pup for a day of safe and monitored fun with other puppies his age, and the staff helps enforce potty training etiquette and good manners. It’s a win-win for everyone.
Most of these facilities and others like them require that your pup be up-to-date on his vaccines. That means rabies, distemper, kennel cough, and parvovirus, at least—so visit the vet and have a copy on-hand for the daycare or dog park!
