If you or a friend are tempted to adopt a rescue dog but need a little nudge in the right direction, maybe listen to Aubrey Plaza – or, excuse me, a dog (that sounds suspiciously similar to Aubrey Plaza.)
The ASPCA has teamed up with Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls to encourage adoption and promote awareness of just how awesome rescued pets can be.
The campaign is headlined by their delightful web series, Heavy Petting, which introduces us to the personalities of adorable rescue dogs with the help of Poehler’s friends. You can join in on the fun too: share your pet’s funniest photo on social media and use the hashtag #SmartGirlsAdopt (and don’t forget to tag @ASPCA and @smrtgrls.)

While you’re getting your photos ready and charging up your phones, take a moment to meet Madison, a 2-year-old terrier mix. She’s looking for someone who’s chill and literary, maybe somebody who shares her interest in weather patterns. And she’s available for adoption! But she’s not desperate, ok?
