A woman in Regina, Saskatchewan made a shocking discovery last weekend – a stray dog with an arrow piercing clean through her body standing on her doorstep. The gorgeous Husky-Shepherd mix was quickly taken in by rescue group, CC RezQs, and named for the brutal instrument that almost took her life.
The veterinarian who examined Arrow revealed that the weapon had bounced off her vertebrae and caused mostly soft tissue damage. Had it been moving faster or landed differently, Arrow could have been paralyzed or killed. It is also suspected that the dog had been walking around with the arrow in her body for at least 3 days. Not much else is known about her history or who could have caused her injury.
Arrow is now safe and expected to make a full recovery in her new foster home, but CC RezQs is searching for a family to give her a more permanent place to call her own. After all she’s been through, this sweet girl deserves a loving family and a place to call home. If you are interested in adopting Arrow or one of the other deserving dogs at CC RezQs, please visit their Facebook Page.
Donations to help with Arrow’s vet bills can be made via e transfer to [email protected] or directly to her file under CC RezQs by calling TM’z Vet at (306)731-3266.
Local authorities have been contacted and are investigating Arrow’s case.
