In a Seattle dog agility class, one of the students is making waves with her stunning athleticism. Oh, but she’s not a dog. She’s a pig.

Amy is 5 months old, and her owner Lori swears that Amy is “the smartest dog I’ve ever trained.” Lori has been mom to many a dog, but her first pig, Amy, has proved to her that pigs and dogs aren’t that different.

According to the instructor of the class, Amy is one of the best students. While pigs aren’t quite the retrievers that dogs are, Amy is willing to work her porkchops off for a decent treat.

“We actually had a pygmy goat come to several of our classes, and so when Lori asked me about bringing a pig, my response was ‘sure why not?'” the instructor said.

Before enrolling in dog agility training, Amy completed a course in puppy manners (although she’s still a bit of a treat hog).

The biggest difference between Amy and dogs: where dogs eventually ween off treats and begin to perform agility tasks simply for their owners’ approval, Amy still requires some treats for motivation.

Amy will pawfficially debut her new dog skills for the Seattle Kennel Club early in March. Wish her luck, and watch her in action below!
