While we do like to have a lot of fun here in the BarkBox office, (ie: Epic tug-of-war battles, dogs on Twitter, email correspondences with dogs) there is a higher mission at BarkBox. Frankly– we just want to make dogs happy. Whether that means delivering boxes of dog goodies to doorsteps, supporting shelters around the country, or finding pups a home, we want to do all we can to make the lives of our furry pals better.
One small way we plan to help pups is to have periodic features of dogs in need of a home. First up is Maggie, a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix in Brooklyn, NY. Like many rescue dogs, Maggie has an incomplete story, but she is one pleasant pup! 🙂
About Maggie:
Age: 1.5 years
Weight: 16 lbs
Breed: Chihuahua/Terrier Mix
Cuddly?: Yes. Maggie will nap all day on your lap if you let her!
Active?: Oh yes. Maggie loves walks and can run/fetch for hours. This is a pup who loves exercise.
Good with other dogs?: Yes. Maggie would be great in a home with other dogs as she is very social and likes a lot of exercise.
Social?: Like a lot of Chihuahuas, Maggie is shy at first– especially around men. But she warms up quickly and she loves her current foster pop!
General temperament: She’s very intelligent, knows sit and stay quite well and is house trained. Maggie is generally a quiet dog, very relaxed and well-behaved. Maggie would make an excellent pet for an active person or couple who have a few hours to devote to getting to know her–you will be rewarded with kisses! (And that little perpetually crooked ear… to die for.) 🙂
Maggie is currently being fostered in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. For more info about her, see her profile on Petfinder! 🙂 Want to foster a pup like Maggie? Check out Waggytail Rescue.
