“No Presents For My Birthday, I’d Rather Save Dogs.” – Best 9-year-old EVER

Ethan Katz, you are my new personal hero! For most kids (and most adults – let’s be real), birthdays conjure visions of coveted presents and nonstop cake-a-thons, but Ethan saw a chance to help the animals he loves the most: dogs.

Ethan and family have two rescue pups in their pack, a Golden Retriever named Fly and a mini Golden Retriever named Brooklyn, who served as the inspawration for his benevolent birthday wish.

“Since I started fostering my dog Brooklyn, I came up with the idea to do something off of that,” said Ethan.

 

Image via Booster.comEthan designed and sold t-shirts for $20 bucks apiece and donated all proceeds to D.C.-based City Dogs Rescue. Ethan was able to raise enough funds to save 10 dogs from being put down by his May 29th birthday. The campaign was so successful that Ethan and his family have launched a second round to help even more pups! Check it out:
