At 3 P.M. on February 7, 2016 Team Ruff and Team Fluff will go muzzle to muzzle on the Animal Planet Gridiron and play their hearts out for the title of Puppy Bowl XII champs. (Actually the event has already been pre-taped, but that just doesn’t sound as cool.)
One of the ruff and tumble pooches drafted to participate in this year’s event is Carolina, a Pit Pull pup previously thrown into a Walmart dumpster, burned, and abandoned. Not only did Carolina survive, she thrived thanks to the fabulous folks of the Mr. Bones & Company shelter in New York. She now rocks a badass lightning bolt scar down her back that Harry Potter would envy. She also has the cutest, floppiest pair of ears you’ve ever seen!
Shortly after Carolina finished shooting the Puppy Bowl, a young couple came to the shelter and fell in love with her goofy ears, unique scar and indomitable spirit. Carolina is now the proud member of a furever family complete with two fur siblings!
But don’t despair! Adoptable pups from 44 shelters across the U.S. will be strutting their stuff on the field this Sunday in hopes of “scoring” a loving home. Even if you “drop the ball” on adopting a Puppy Bowler, there are thousands of deserving dogs in shelters across the world just waiting for someone to come along and take a chance on them.
Watch Carolina as she prepares for her PFL (Puppy Football League) debut and arrives at her new home in this heartwarming video! And don’t forget to tune into Animal Planet this Sunday for Puppy Bowl XII! There’s nothing better on, right?
