The next time your dog seems interested in rummaging through garbage, make sure there isn’t a diamond hidden in it.
Because that’s exactly what Rosie the Springer Spaniel found while walking with her owner and the family’s other dog, Dylan. The 1.14 carat diamond had been attached to a weather balloon and released in the air last summer as part of an advertising campaign by 77 Diamonds, a London diamond retailer. And then, because tying a diamond to a balloon is a bad idea life is funny like that, the diamond was lost. Until one lucky dog sniffed it out.
Rosie’s owner says he will sell the diamond and go on a Mediterranean cruise with his wife. As for Rosie? She’ll get a yummy steak.
