Note: Always consult with your vet before feeding your pup something she’s not used to!
In preparation for the intense puppy eyes we’ll be getting over the holidays, we’ve compiled a list of desserts you can actually let your dog try without thinking “I might regret this.” They’re easy, delicious and will probably not upset either of your bellies*.
And since it is a dog’s world that we just happen to live in, the recipes are actually human-friendly. “You’re welcome.” –Dogs
1. Mini Peanut Butter Cakes
What you’ll need:
Directions:
Before you forget, preheat your oven to 350°F. Using a hand mixer, combine the flour (any kind of flour that you know your pup is okay with), baking powder, carrot, apple sauce, eggs and peanut butter until smooth. Bake the cakes for 25-30 minutes and let them cool.
For the frosting, mix the yogurt and peanut butter until smooth. Layer the mini cakes with frosting, or top them each individually, or do whatever your dog wants, really. You can probably use a icing bag to spell Poison and they’ll still eat it.

2. Iced Pumpkin Cookies
What you’ll need
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (if you just finished baking the mini peanut butter cakes, leave it on). In one bowl, combine the flour (again, whatever kind if safe for your pup), baking powder and cinnamon. In a second bowl, mix the butter, pumpkin and egg until creamy. Then, mix in the dry ingredients. Shape the cookies as you wish and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
To make the icing, mix the cream cheese, honey and yogurt until smooth. Add the flour (I used coconut) one tablespoon at a time until you reach a good consistency. Use a piping bag to decorate!

3. Apple Bacon Oatmeal Cookies
What you’ll need:
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Peel and dice the apple. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, oatmeal, baking powder, bacon and apple. Add a tablespoon at a time of water or almond milk until you reach a consistency where the dough holds together and is slightly sticky. Roll them up into small balls and bake for 13-15 minutes.

p.s. I swear she’s happier than she looks.
4. Banana Pudding
What you’ll need:
Directions:
Separate the yolks from three of the eggs, setting aside the whites, and add the fourth egg to the yolks. In a saucepan, mix together 1/2 cup honey and the flour. Add in the whole egg and yolks, and then stir in the milk. Cook uncovered over medium heat for about ten minutes until thick, then take off the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Preheat your oven to 425°F. Slice the bananas and place them in between layers of pudding in a casserole dish. For the meringue, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt and remaining honey until stiff. Spread it over the pudding and bake it until the meringue is slightly toasted, about five minutes.

5. Fruit Popsicles
What you’ll need:
Directions:
For the first layer, blend half a cup of berries with half a cup of yogurt until smooth. Pour an inch or so to the bottom of the cup and freeze for 30 minutes. Repeat by blending the banana with the other half cup of yogurt and pouring it in the cup.
Use the remaining half cup of berries to make a yogurt-less layer. Let the layers freeze for a few hours until they’ve really set. Run the cups under warm water to remove the popsicles.
