The Funniest, Weirdest, Most Heart-Warming Super Bowl Ads (With Dogs!) Through The Years

As Americans, we can agree on our love of two things—football and dogs. That’s probably why we don’t just have a Super Bowl every year, but a Puppy Bowl too! And why it’s no surprise that you’ll find dogs starring in some of the best Super Bowl ads over the years.

If you happened to miss them, we rounded up our favorites:

2022’s Best Super Bowl Ads With Dogs

Budweiser: “A Clydesdale’s Journey”

Budweiser is sending us on an emotional roller coaster over here with this ad! You’ll end up holding your breath as you watch this good boy Labrador standing by his Clydesdale buddy’s side through his recovery after injuring a leg.

Kia EV6: “Robo Dog”

Roof-jumping Robo Dogs don’t exist yet, so we’ll let this one slide for now, Kia. But if you put imaginary Robo Dog in harms way again, we may need to have a little chat!

Meta Quest: “Old Friends. New Fun”

If you’ve ever wanted to watch an ad that crushes both your childhood memories of those weird Chuck E. Cheese animatronic puppets and nearly crushes a literal animatronic dog character in a trash compactor, then uh, this commercial is for you!

Best Past Super Bowl Ads With Dogs

2014 Budweiser: “Puppy Love”

Budweiser brought this old 2014 ad full circle this year. Up above we watched as a dog stood by his best Clydesdale friend during a tough recovery, but here we see how these two first met years ago. Budweiser, you sure do know how to make a tearjerker!

2016 Heinz: “Wiener Stampede”

This classic has everything that you could want in a Super Bowl commercial—there’s drama, there’s anticipation, there’s a herd of weenie dogs wearing hot dog buns running toward human condiment bottles? Just the perfect amount of weirdness that’s hard to forget.

2016 Subaru: “Dog Tested”

Subaru is one car brand that just gets dogs and their humans—including the communication mishaps between us both. One day we’ll figure it out…

2016 Doritos: “Crash The Super Bowl”

2016 was really on a roll with dog commercials! We have a feeling the folks in charge of Super Bowl ads that year were actually just three dogs in a trench coat.

2016 Mountain Dew: “Puppy Monkey Baby”

Ok ok, you caught us. This probably isn’t one of the best Super Bowl dog ads of all time, but it is 100% one of the strangest, and we wanted to make sure we weren’t the only ones cursed with having to watch it.

And now back to our regularly scheduled BARK Post programming.
