The Humane Society International recently shared this genuinely heartbreaking yet wonderful video of the 57 dogs rescued from a South Korean meat farm.
This was a momentous step for the Humane Society International (HSI) who’ve been working hard to stop the dog meat trade across Asia. The rescue has not only transformed the fate of 57 pups but also paved the path for future change.
HSI accompanied the video with this heartening message on their Facebook page:
“HSI has secured an agreement with their former owner to stop raising dogs for meat and shift permanently to growing crops as a more humane way to make a living. He will also serve as a spokesperson on the issue for HSI in South Korea in hopes of convincing more farmers to transition out of this cruel business.”
We just want to say high paws to the Humane Society for orchestrating this rescue, it couldn’t have been easy.
The rescued pups are currently being cared for by the San Francisco SPCA. Once evaluated, they will be picked up by various shelters around the area so the shelters can help find these pups some loving furever homes!
