Risa Feldman found herself in the Home Depot one day for the unlikeliest of reasons. She wasn’t renovating her home or in need of pesticide. She needed to build something to help her dog Ike move about easier.

Ike, who is 15 years old, has been battling cancer in his leg and has trouble getting around. When Risa asked one of the staff at Home Depot what they would do, he said he’d have to think about it. And boy did he.

Ernesto Moran, along with another Home Depot survey employee, Justin Wadman, built Ike a dog-sized wagon for Risa to cart him around in, making movement easier on both of them.

Custom-built to fit Ike, the wagon served as a useful, and very touching, gift from two men who had no real reason to go out of their way to help. Risa was so moved that she contacted the press to make sure the two men enjoyed the praise they deserve.

“I just wanted people to know that there are still people out there who do good things,” Risa said. High paws all around.
