As are all relationships, the dog/human relationship is not one way. There are thousands of remarkable stories of dogs helping people, as well as amazing stories of people helping dogs. When kind-hearted, dog loving people come together, some pretty amazing things can happen! We would like to shed some light on ten amazing organizations, from all over the world, dedicated to helping our best friends.

Animal Aid Unlimited is a hospital and sanctuary for injured or ill street animals in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. AAU rescues thousands of animals each year, like this pup who had fallen into a a pit of tar and was unable to move. Watch AAU swoop in and save the day!

This Aggie vet started a nonprofit organization, Vet Ranch, so he could give medical treatment to homeless dogs that had no owner to pay the bill. After being treated and cared for at Vet Ranch the animals are adopted out to forever homes! We particularly love the story of Gracie, a homeless dog pregnant with TWELVE puppies, who was scheduled to be euthenized! You can watch Gracie and her puppies’ story (as well as her puppies growing up) in the video below!

Alright, hold your breath–the rescue of Billy the dog is definitely a tear jerker. This pup had to wait farrr too long to receive the love and care that he deserved, but thanks to Ilioupolis Animal Welfare, a volunteer based animal welfare union in Greece, Billy did receive that love and care, and was rescued from starvation and mange, as well as placed into a loving home. Get ready to see his amazing transformation, and some beautiful footage of him with his loving hooman in the video below.

PAWS, The Philippine Animal Welfare Society, is a volunteer-based, non-government organization in the Philippines, that fights against animal cruelty, like the dog-meat trade. To learn more about the history of PAWS, and the amazing work that they do, check out the video below!

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a charity operating in England and Wales that promotes the kind treatment of animals.
