This year for the holidays, the Union Square Macy’s in San Francisco will continue one of its newest traditions. Macy’s will feature adoptable dogs in their classic displays with the goal of raising awareness for the SF SPCA and getting these pups adopted!

The San Francisco Macy’s began to use their famed holiday window display find homes for cuties like this little gal back in 2010. Say “cheese,” pup!

The first event was such a success that it has become a regular part of Macy’s holiday festivities.

“Will you be my new mommy?”

Here’s the Mayor of San Francisco saying hi to one of the derpy doges.

All he wants for Christmas is a bed with hoomans in it.

Last year, Macy’s and the SPCA set a record by finding homes for 339 dogs and cats from the window display, more than they had in previous years. This year they intend to set a new record.

The long term goal of the adoption event is to generate enough support from the local community to end animal abandonment in San Francisco by the year 2020.
