You know how people have this idea of the parent they’ll be when they decide to have kids and they have this vision of doing all the things that would make them the cool parent like always accepting their kids’ pretend tea party invitations or, like, building blanket forts to hide in together on stormy nights? (I don’t know what cool parents do; I’m still struggling to figure out how to be an adult.)
