Last month, we showed you a video of a suspected Pug puppy mill in Tonopah, AZ and the 126 Pugs (and three French Bulldogs) who were rescued by police officers. The dogs are not yet available for adoption – they will be as soon as they’re given medical clearance – but Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s MASH Unit is accepting adoption applications for them.
If you’re interested in adopting these dogs and you live in the state of Arizona, fill out the Cat/Dog Adoption Contact and the Cat/Dog Adoption Questionnaire (both can be found here) and mail them to the Mash Unit no later than December 21st, 2015:

Maricopa County Sheriff’s officers rescued 126 pugs last week from what appeared to be a puppy mill run out of someone’s home. The footage of the rescue was caught via one of the officer’s body cameras. Also removed from the property were three French Bulldogs. All 129 dogs have since been transferred to MCSO’s MASH (Maricopa Animal Safe Haven) Unit and are being cared for by veterinarians.

MCSO is treating the case as an animal cruelty/puppy mill situation, although the owners deny that they were breeding and selling the dogs. After thorough veterinary check-ups, MCSO will determine which charges the owners will face.
On the bright side, the organization intends to rehabilitate and re-home all of the dogs once they are healthy. They even plan to adopt some of them out to an organization that trains service dogs for veterans suffering from PTSD.
