Brendan Biondi thinks his dog Calvin is so special that he wrote him a song. But not just any song. “Song My Dog Wrote,” was written from Calvin’s perspective.
Brendan wrote for his dog with such conviction that we decided to ask him a few questions about his relationship with Calvin, and we were blown away by what we learned.

Brendan and Calvin met through the Hero Dogs program. Brendan had volunteered to raise and train Calvin to be a service dog for a disabled or injured veteran. When Calvin couldn’t complete the program because of complications with allergies, Brendan didn’t hesitate to adopt the dog he had grown to love.

Now, Calvin is a therapy dog and he and Brendan visit disabled and injured veterans at Walter Reed hospital and the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington D.C.
We asked Brendan if Calvin ever sings along with him when he plays his music, but Brendan said Calvin doesn’t sing. Calvin does “enjoy the music though and will curl up right next to me and fall asleep.”
