“Bailey has been found!”
For owner Gisel Jaramillo, the news that her dog had been found was completely unexpected. It had been six years since 10 year old Bailey had escaped through the front door of her Texas home.
Found more than 1,000 miles away and afflicted with a host of medical problems, the sweet pup who had once been the ring bearer at the Jaramillo wedding was turned in at a pet hospital — in Indiana. Thankfully, a quick scan of his microchip led rescuers to Jaramillo’s father, who passed the good news on to his daughter.
“I have a 9-year-old, 6-year-old and a 19-month-old baby,” Jaramillo said in a Skype interview. “And I had the dog before I had them all.” Jaramillo’s Facebook album of Bailey is filled with pictures of him as a puppy. They tell the story of the life of a pampered pooch who enjoyed being part of the family.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help raise money to fund Bailey’s return home, and donations have already exceeded the $700 asked for, with one person giving $200. The extra funds will be donated to a local shelter. The Jaramillos plan to have a Welcome Home Pawty, complete with a special pup cake, once Bailey is finally returned to his home. They even have a whole wardrobe ready for him. Talk about one lucky pup!
